Topical Therapy of Thio-TEPA on Superficial Bladder Tumors

Abstract
|
|
|
The effect of topical thiotepa, on the recurrence rate of superficial bladder cancers was studied comparing 23 patients treated with thiotepa following operation with 17 patients treated without thiotepa following operation.
Recurrence rates in patients instilled with thiotepa and those without thiotepa were 34.8% and 64.7%, respectively.
Recurrence rates within 12 months in patients instilled with thiotepa and those without thiotepa were 37.5% and 63-6%, respectively.
Average months of recurrence in patients instilled with thiotepa and those without thiotepa were 15.3 months and 11.5 months, respectively.
